What I’m doing

Well, I’m not resting on my laurels here. I’ve been working on the interface somewhat.

The menu system has been totally re-written - visually not much has changed but its now a fairly generic and supports nested levels.

This has allowed for a new settings menu - not much here yet except moved the cailbration settings here, added options to turn on/off music and sounds (yup - they will be making an appearance soon), and added a developer mode (to ease testing of levels).

All this may well make it into version 1.2 - depending on how much testing I get to do before Apple let me upload a new version.

I’ve also made a lot of changes to the levelpack loading - packs are more strictly verified now, and better warnings are in place if an invalid levelpack is loaded. The last URL loaded is now saved (which makes downloading  multiple levelpacks from the same source a bit easier). I’ve turned auto-correct off and the url can easily be cleared.

The calibration has been totally re-writting and looks a little better now.

Some minor bug fixes based on user feedback have also been included.

Gameplay wise, not much has changed although I am looking at flipping levels (switching upside down) as a level type.

I’m also starting to consider powerups and collections. Not sure how this will work (if at all yet) so early days here.

Oh and visit http://cuberun.org - this is a nice community site that is starting to take off and run by Logan Park. There is a nice online levelpack generator, levelpacks to download and a forum to chat about Cube Runner.
